Major Fields of Specialisation
Water Supply and Sanitation
Water requirements for human consumption are continuously increasing due
to increasing population, rise in the living standards and rapid industrialization.
Keeping up with companys mission of serving societys need globally,
the Centre for Water Supply and Sanitation has been able to make a niche
for itself in the traditional and new areas of consultancy services in this
field. It has successfully completed a large number of consultancy assignments
in India and abroad. Un-accounted for water reductions
and control, drainage/treatment of waste water & sewage, recycling of
treated effluent water for irrigation etc., are some of the specialised
fields of consultancy provided in this sector. Planning of both water supply
and sanitation schemes, as part of the integrated infrastructure, is a major
forte of the company. Some other areas of activities include solid waste
management, rural sanitation, low cost sanitation, water quality monitoring,
arsenic mitigation, fluoride mitigation etc.
The ability to understand the requirements of upgradation/expansion
of existing facilities and of new projects, with emphasis on community and private
sector participation, has been a key element in building up the exercise in this
field.
