Dr. Manmohan Singh, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India presented the "MOU Award for Excellence in Performance" for the year 2005-2006 to Sh. D. Datta, Chairman cum Managing Director, WAPCOS during the Conference of Chief Executives of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) on 8th March, 2007 at Balyogi Auditorium, Parliament Library Building, New Delhi. WAPCOS has been selected amongst the Top Ten Central Public Enterprises by the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Govt. of India for this award, on the basis of the Company's performance including financial achievements in terms of gross margin, net profit, turnover and dynamic parameters including research and development, diversification in new fields, human resources development and customer satisfaction. WAPCOS has achieved a unique score of 1.0, which is the highest achievable score as per the MOU evaluation system of the Department of Public Enterprises, Govt. of India.

Sh. Jairam Ramesh, Hon'ble Minister of State for Commerce, Govt. of India also presented the "MOU Excellence Certificate" for the year 2004-2005 to Sh. D. Datta, Chairman cum Managing Director, WAPCOS, during the above Conference. WAPCOS has performed exceedingly well, under the dynamic leadership of Shri D. Datta, consistently during the last 3 years and has been placed in the 'Excellent' category for the 3rd time in succession.
